On this tour, you’ll be playing at 18-hole golf course in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya Golf Club, and Shangri La Hotel Golf Club in Hambantota.
During this tour, you can explore the cultural hotspot of Kandy. It is home to the Temple of the Tooth Relic, which houses a sacred tooth relic of Buddha and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Known as “Little England,” Nuwata Eliya is famous for its cool climate, lush green tea plantations, and stunning landscapes. The city has a rich history, dating back to the British colonial era, and is a popular tourist destination. The tour ends at the Shangri-La Hotel Hambantota, where you’ll have access to many attractions along the south coast of Sri Lanka, such as Yala National Park.
Itinerary
After arrival an NKAR representative will welcome you at the airport and proceed to Kandy.
Enroute visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage.
The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, established in 1975, commenced with seven orphans. Today some of these orphans enjoy the fortune of seeing their grandchildren born in the same location. The original objective of establishing the orphanage inclined more towards tourism, but it soon became a conservation and educational centre. With the help of local and foreign elephant experts, Pinnawala started a scientific captive-breeding program for elephants.

After Breakfast do Kandy City Tour including Kandy Temple of Tooth Relic.
Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings which is a World Heritage Site. The name “Kandy” conjures visions of splendor and magnificence. Many of the legends, traditions and folklore are still lovingly kept alive. Drive around the Kandy Lake built by the last Sinhala king Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe in 1798. Visit the bazaar area, arts & crafts center, a gem museum and watch a lapidary at work.
Kandy ‘s main attraction is the Dalada Maligawa, the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha brought to Sri Lanka in the 4th century AD. This sacred relic has ever since been the symbol of sovereignty for its rulers and is always enshrined in great splendor.
Thereafter, Transfer to Nuwara Eliya
You can sightseen the Ramboda Falls on the way to Nuwara Eliya.

Galle the beautiful colonial town along the Southern Coast of Sri Lanka is a city that cannot be missed. Galle is popular for the 300-year-old fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The 36-hectare fort was built by the Dutch in 1663, surrounded on three sides by the ocean. The streets within the fort are crammed with colonial remnants from the Dutch clock tower, Reformed church and the commander’s house to the British coat of arms on the outer wall. You can enjoy the beautiful colonial architecture, visit the Galle Maritime Museum, the Galle lighthouse, Bodhi tree and the reclining Buddha Statue in the temple.

The busiest place in Sri Lanka is Colombo, the commercial capital of the country. Colombo is a beautiful city with modern high-rise buildings amidst old colonial ones making it a picturesque place. Galle Face Green in Colombo, the favorite hangout spot for locals and tourists alike overlooking the beautiful Indian Ocean and surrounded by tall beautiful buildings. Viharamaha Devi Park with tall flowering trees which bloom during April is a quiet serene place in the middle of the busy city. Colombo is also a shopper’s paradise with posh shopping malls and the famous Pettah market.

FAQs
Sri Lanka is quite conservative when it comes to sacred spaces. Both men and women must cover their shoulders and knees.
- Pro Tip: Pack a lightweight sarong or scarf in your day bag to wrap around yourself before entering.
- Shoes: You’ll need to remove your shoes at the entrance. In the afternoon, the stone floors can get very hot, so wearing a pair of socks can protect your feet while still following the “no shoes” rule.
Since lunch and dinner aren’t included, you’ll have flexibility.
- Meals: A decent meal at a local restaurant costs around $5–$10 USD, while hotel dinners often range from $15–$25 USD.
- Tipping: While not mandatory, it is highly expected for good service. For your chauffeur guide, a standard tip is roughly $10–$15 USD per day (total from the group). For the Yala jeep driver, a tip of 1,000–2,000 LKR is customary if they help you spot a leopard!
You are traveling through two extremes:
- Nuwara Eliya: It’s in the “Highlands” and can get surprisingly chilly (down to 12°C/54°F) at night or early morning. Bring a light jacket or fleece.
- Yala & Hikkaduwa: These areas are tropical and humid (30°C+/86°F+). Lightweight cotton or linen clothing and plenty of sunscreen are essential.
While Yala has one of the highest leopard densities in the world, they are wild animals and sightings are never guaranteed.
- To increase your chances, your itinerary has you entering the park—usually at dawn or dusk when the cats are most active.
- Even if the leopards are shy, you are almost certain to see elephants, spotted deer, crocodiles, and incredible birdlife.
Yes! Hikkaduwa is famous for its vibrant coral reef and surfing.
- Snorkeling: You can often see sea turtles just a few meters from the shore near the main hotels.
- Currents: Always check with your hotel or local lifeguards about the “red flag” status. The Indian Ocean can have strong currents depending on the monsoon season (May to September can be rougher on the SW coast).
